I’ve been feeling all sorts of reflective these last few weeks. Our house is officially on the market, which was surprising sad for me. This was our first house, the house that we’ve raised our child in. The house that we fixed up, improved and actually hoped to make a small profit with (not in this economy honey). We have a lot of memories here, and I’m sad to leave them behind, even if it means that we are moving on to bigger and better things.
Not only that, but Eli turns 2 in less than 3 weeks. Two years old.
He’s grown from this teeny tiny baby that I could hold with one arm.
To this toddler that I can barely hold with two arms.
As we prepare for his birthday party, which he’s sharing with his cousin Evie (her first birthday), I’m thinking back over the last two years, with more joy that can possibly be contained in one person. And just a touch of sadness.
But I’m also making up a few batches of Cake Balls shaped as footballs, basketballs and lady bugs. At least the sugar rush will help me through.
Yes, we’re celebrating a little early over here. Two is a very special birthday.
