Ways to Bring a Smile to My Face – Top Ten Tuesday

Lately I’ve strayed from talking a lot about the kiddo. No specific reason, I think that the recipes, giveaways and SAHM posts have just taken over. So to make up for this oversight, here’s my list of the top ten ways the kiddo puts a smile on my face.

  1. He wakes up talking to Elmo.
  2. When someone sneezes or coughs he says “You’re OK momma?” instead of bless you.
  3. He narrates what he does, whether it’s running (I running!) or dancing with Elmo (Elmo dancing!).
  4. He loves to eat with a fork. Even if it’s a muffin at breakfast time. He’ll shout “Need fork!” until I produce the magical utensil.
  5. He sings “Momma’s car go beep-beep” when I lock it.
  6. He yells out “Go potty get CAAAANDY”, in the middle of restaurants.
  7. He’s a good little helper and “cleans” the table, floor or couch with his napkin (which usually ends up in a bigger mess).
  8. He loves to color and he’s so proud of his creations, especially the big, looping circles that he just figured out how to make.
  9. Everything is pink. And if it’s not pink, it’s red. If it’s not red, then it must be yellow. If you tell him differently you are met with a blank stare that says, “Momma you just don’t know what you are talking about”.
  10. He goes to sleep talking to Elmo.
  11. Ok, just one more. He gives the best hugs and kisses on the planet. These magical hugs and kisses wipe away the worst day and bring tears of happiness to my eyes. How did I get so lucky to have such an amazing little boy?

Top 10 Reasons My Husband is a Better Dad Than I Could Be

It’s no secret that moms and dads are good at different things. I mean, it’s almost like we’re completely different people. Strange, huh? So, in tribute to Dad-oo himself, the top 10 reasons that he is a better father than I ever could be.

  1. He’s a much better fort builder.
  2. He rough houses with the best of them.
  3. He’s much more willing to make a fool out of himself that I am. (In a good way.)
  4. He enjoys playing with the kiddo and his balls.
  5. He’s much more patient that I am. Especially during meals with the kiddo refuses to eat, has a fit and is just plain acting sassy.
  6. He can do big, scary voices much better than I can.
  7. He can monster step around the house better than I can.
  8. He is oh-so-proud when the kiddo specifically requests duct tape, while I would just roll my eyes.
  9. He will tackle just about any sport with enthusiasm, and will someday be a great coach.
  10. Tantrums don’t even phase him.
