Remember this video?
This was one of only three times that the kiddo tried broccoli. I think you will understand why we stopped getting him to eat it.
He hates it so much that if I even try to sneak it into other food, like spaghetti sauce, his super heightened broccoli taste buds can pick it out. So I’ve just stopped trying. There are other veggies in the sea.
Until last week, when he saw a head of broccoli in the fridge, and proclaimed that he LOVED broccoli. Whatever, I thought.
Then when he requested demanded broccoli, I caved and cooked a few pieces, secretly hoping that his broccoli stand off was finally over.
This was the result.
I guess the broccoli stand off it still going strong.

My kids do the same thing. The demand a food that they don’t like and I get all hopeful that they will eat it but they never do.
I guess we can’t be blamed for trying.

Funnily enough, both my kids love it… as in, if I don’t know what to cook, I know that I could always fall back on broccoli. There are other things that they wouldn’t eat, though –e.g. shrimps (who in their right mind doesn’t love shrimps?!).

Oh my gosh! So funny that he said he wanted it and then did that : ) He is really cute. What a sweetie! My son has always loved broccilee. There isn’t a vegetable he doesn’t like! I am so lucky!

)…it’s really good w/ bacon salt or some melted cheese which i’m sure helps them enjoy it even more.

Ha Ha Ha that is freaking hilarious. I go through the same thing with my son and he’s now 8. But my daughters have always loved broccoli. go figure.

That is funny! Keep trying. Sometimes kids have to try a flavor over and over until they get used to it. My kids love broccoli.

You know, I just don’t get kids. The whole saying they want something when you know good and well they don’t – or vice versa! It’s so frustrating.
My daughter loved broccoli when she was between 1 and 2. I thought I had it made. But now? She won’t have anything to do with it. And while I can’t blame her (I actually don’t like broccoli either), I really want her to eat it!!!
