It’s no secret that moms and dads are good at different things. I mean, it’s almost like we’re completely different people. Strange, huh? So, in tribute to Dad-oo himself, the top 10 reasons that he is a better father than I ever could be.
- He’s a much better fort builder.
- He rough houses with the best of them.
- He’s much more willing to make a fool out of himself that I am. (In a good way.)
- He enjoys playing with the kiddo and his balls.
- He’s much more patient that I am. Especially during meals with the kiddo refuses to eat, has a fit and is just plain acting sassy.
- He can do big, scary voices much better than I can.
- He can monster step around the house better than I can.
- He is oh-so-proud when the kiddo specifically requests duct tape, while I would just roll my eyes.
- He will tackle just about any sport with enthusiasm, and will someday be a great coach.
- Tantrums don’t even phase him.

@mandi @ it’s come to this, I totally agree. I think that sometimes we forget to tell Dad’s how special they are. This was my way of telling him.

Wrote a very similar post myself a few months back. My husband is such the better parent for many of the same reasons. Someone recently reminded me though: we have moms and dads for precisely this reason. We each bring different qualities to our relationships with our children, each unique and important on their own.

@Christine LaRocque, I couldn’t agree more. Our family just wouldn’t be complete without Dad-oo.

I love watching my hubbie be a daddy! Daddies are definitely a special part of kids’ lives – somebody that Mommy can’t duplicate!

@Ashley, That’s so true. I just wish I remembered to thank my hubby more often for being such a great dad. He deserves it.

So sweet! Seems like such a great guy. Agree with everyone that Moms and Dads are both needed. Both have very special qualities. btw, have you ever noticed that guys can naturally make car noises? I’ve tried but can’t come close!
