Last weekend was a crazy weekend. And that’s putting it mildly.
We spent Christmas Eve and Day at home, just our little family. Well, Grams and Grandpa Larry did make it to church with us, where Eli met and fell in love with an Angel. He flirted, he smiled, but when it came time to finally met her, he was all shy and hid in Momma’s shoulder. I guess he’s not ready for love quite yet. But on the plus side, we now have a babysitter if we ever need one.
We also spent some time on Christmas Eve with Grandpa and Grandma Kelly, for a late b-day celebration for me. We were stuffed full of yummy food, cake and wine. And that was just the first of many days of being stuffed full.
Christmas Day we spent together as a family. We made dough nuts from scratch, then Dad-oo continued to fry everything he could get his hands on in the kitchen. Thank goodness all of the stores were closed, who knows what he would have bought just to fry.
We opened gifts and had a blast playing.
We drove around looking at Christmas lights. One of my favorite things my family did growing up.
We made homemade pizza. Even the kiddo had his very own pizza, which he gobbled up.
The rest of the weekend was spent bouncing from one house to the next. There was a surprise visit from Santa, and all of the kiddos in the family had a chance to visit with him.
There was food. There were presents. Some poopy diapers and one really stinky pug. And for once, that pug was not ours.
So, what was the kiddos’ favorite present? You might think it would be hard for him to pick, since he was blessed with so many wonderful gifts. But no, he clearly has picked his favorites.
You how you take a million photos during the holidays, but when you look through them after everything is over, you realize that one or more people aren’t in a single photo? Yeah, that. So I’m sorry to anyone who wasn’t included in these photos, it wasn’t intentional, just an oversight.
What were your favorite gifts this year?
